Product Review Sweepstakes

Product: The Husqvarna Review Sweepstakes was a site-wide promotion I ran w/Ecommerce support, to solicit product reviews in exchange for a chance at winning a free Husqvarna battery equipment package.

Role: A must-have element of any product’s launch / positioning / commercialization strategy is the inclusion of customer ratings and reviews. Customers are more likely to engage in purchasing behavior if a product has 8+ reviews with an average rating of 4 stars or higher. With that value in mind, product review submission was a quarterly KPI target, for both new product activation and the existing assortment of product.

Husqvarna lacked meaningful, organic, positive, weekly review submissions MoM.

To drive positive, organic traffic, the review sweepstake(s) were held for 2.5 months (depending on the season) and offered a newly released battery prize package for both the US and Canadian markets. To bring these contests to life, I leveraged business units, social agencies & calendars, SEO, Ecommerce sales, and BazaarVoice dashboard to guarantee our sweepstakes stayed searchable, snackable, and shareable.

The results of the reviews sweepstakes were staggering to say the least. In 2021 (at the time of the sweepstake(s) periods), with a cumulative 3 month running period, review volume grew by 52% YoY and with a positive sentiment (4* & 5* reviews) distribution of over 90%. This amounted to over 800+ 4 and 5 star reviews being submitted in >1/4 of the year.
